Portable Stellarium, just like in the case of its installable counterpart is an innovative app indeed. The program is just as cool with the added perk of not leaving behind too many leftover files. Yes, the sky will be just as blue, and the stars equally bright, but the added portability means you'll be able to show these findings to many more individuals than you could with the usual program. The 'portable' apps from what I understand are just the original apps repackaged and modified to run from an external drive - so its presumably near enough the standard version of stellarium. If you thought viewing the sky and stars with Stellarium was something to write home about, wait until you give its portable counterpart, Portable Stellarium, a try. I use two excellent space simulations: Celestia and Stellarium. The iPhone version was a port of stellarium. ![]()
